Hi Sarah & Duncan,
It's here! Your final design is ready to view!
We've loved working on your Den and to accompany your room design we've included a design narrative below which explains how the concept works as a whole, including some tips- check it out!
Your shopping list:
As part of the free personal shopping service you have the option of ordering your items directly through us by adding them to your shopping basket. This is particularly helpful if you are ordering from numerous retailers as you only have to add your details once and our personal shopping team will sort the rest!
You’ll see that we’ve included a number of alternatives at different price points for each category in your shopping list, just click 'alternatives' to reveal these. You can then click the arrows to move the different products in and out of your shopping list, so have a play with different combinations. You’ll also see that the overall price at the bottom will update accordingly.
We're afraid we have tried to stay within your budget, but as you will see we have allowed for some quality items and lots of finishing touches, which has increased the overall price. Your shopping list will stay open for as long as you like so you can purchase the key pieces first and then add to it as and when you can. We hope this is acceptable and we hope you love your new design!
There are a small selection of retailers who only deliver directly to the account holder therefore we are unable to offer as part of our personal shopping service. If you do select anything from these retailers there is a handy link on the product which takes you to the retailers' site for you to purchase directly.
Please bear in mind that items can go out of stock quickly, so if you really love certain items it is best to purchase those first. However your shopping list will stay open as long as you like, so you can purchase the key pieces first and then add to them whenever you are ready.
Design Narrative:
When entering the room you will be greeted by your new feature corner chaise sofa in emerald green velvet. The sofa features a slim profile and gives an overall classic and timeless look whilst the green velvet cover adds a bit of playful luxe to the room. On your sofa will be cushions in honey and coral velvet to add some warm colour pops. Added to this area is a feature geometric multi-coloured cushion, with its 100% wool front it will give you a soft and cosy place to sink into to watch a movie with your son.
Below the sofa will sit a large cream and charcoal grey berber rug to add warmth to the room while creating a striking focal point to the floor.
The wall behind the sofa will add to the drama with its two feature shelves offsetting the wall colour behind. We love the idea of complementing the sofa colour on the wall directly behind it as shown in the visuals above. This is a fresher approach to using colour, rather than making a large contrast between the wall and sofa we like the fact that the cushions create the colour contrast required in this area. The colour we have opted for is 'Tea with Florence' by Little Greene. This stunning dark teal colour is featured in Little Greene's National Trust collection and we can't get enough of it! The wall colour will be broken up with two feature timber shelves adorned with little colour pops in the shape of vases in a mix of ceramic, glass and metal as well as books, artwork and a feature globe.
In front of the sofa will sit a side table. Although we looked at the option of having a larger coffee table we thought it was important to let your son have some floor space to play if required. The side table features a green coloured terrazzo top and a gold metal frame. This table is a fab little statement all by itself and will look perfect sitting next to the emerald green sofa.
From the side table your eye will be taken up to the roman blinds. We have allowed for the blinds to be in a blue-green woven patterned fabric that's subtle and stylish with intertwining geometric shapes that create a textured look. We have added some other blind options to your Alternatives section of your shopping list for you to consider and will send you some fabric samples in the post so you can see them in the flesh. We have also added some roller blind voile options which would be positioned behind the roman blind. This could be helpful to you if you are working at the computer on a bright day and would like to reduce the glare in the room whilst still having enough light to work.
The wall behind the blind will be painted in 'Shallows' by Little Greene which is a pale grey that will complement the stronger colour in the room perfectly.
To the left of the blind you will see Sarah's new work station, complete with desk, chair, rug and shelving above. The desk we have chosen is streamlined and minimalist in design with just two drawers at the top which can act to file important documents and keep your desk space clear.
We have opted for a beautiful desk chair which is not cheap but offers everything you asked for. It has a super comfortable design including arms, stylish brass frame and legs, and is topped off with soft pink velvet fabric. We have added a coral cushion to the chair for added comfort. This chair is not available until October but we think its worth the wait! If you are keen to purchase your desk chair sooner then there are some great alternatives on the shopping list for you to consider.
Underneath the chair we have added a small circular green rug to add some warmth for your toes whilst you are working away!
Above your new work station we have allowed for a timber shelf that will add some storage for documents and stationary as well as space for some extra accessories.
To add some light to the desk we have allowed for a desk lamp. We have specified a super cool white & brass lamp with an interesting bow tie shaped hood.
The area opposite the sofa will be dedicated to your new media unit. The wall will be painted teal to reflect the opposite wall and add interest and depth to this area. The media unit we have picked is a solid timber finish which will contrast nicely against this backdrop. This compact unit has a subtle nordic, contemporary style and stands out with its feature line carved front.
Alongside the media unit sits a vibrant floor standing 'Bird of Paradise' plant with a blush pink crackle glazed plant pot, which will work well in its close position to the desk chair.
The wall opposite your window will become a haven for playing your keyboard. We have included a comfortable velvet stool in a bright coral colour to add vibrancy to this area. Above the keyboard we have created an artwork montage including your existing Chord print and some new pieces with the theme of theatre and abstract art.
For the main ceiling light we have opted for a brass sleek conical pendant. The wide brim will help to diffuse light throughout the room.
We have really enjoyed working on your design. Once you have digested it all please get in touch and tell us what you think! As mentioned we will send some samples to you in the post including blind and sofa swatches next week.
Please feel free to ask us if you have any queries about your room design. Enjoy!
Warm wishes,
Emma & Harriet.
