Hi James & Polly,
It's here! Your final Living Room design is ready to view!
We've loved working on this space and to accompany your room design we've included a design narrative below which explains how the concept works as a whole, including some tips- check it out!
Your shopping list:
As part of the free personal shopping service you have the option of ordering your items directly through us by adding them to your shopping basket. This is particularly helpful if you are ordering from numerous retailers as you only have to add your details once and our personal shopping team will sort the rest!
You’ll see that we’ve included a number of alternatives at different price points for each category in your shopping list, just click 'alternatives' to reveal these. You can then click the arrows to move the different products in and out of your shopping list, so have a play with different combinations. You’ll also see that the overall price at the bottom will update accordingly.
There are a small selection of retailers who only deliver directly to the account holder therefore we are unable to offer as part of our personal shopping service. If you do select anything from these retailers there is a handy link on the product which takes you to the retailers' site for you to purchase directly.
Please bear in mind that items can go out of stock quickly, so if you really love certain items it is best to purchase those first. However your shopping list will stay open as long as you like, so you can purchase the key pieces first and then add to them whenever you are ready.
Design Narrative:
As you walk into your new Living Room you will at once be drawn to the deep and dramatic wall colour. We have opted for Farrow & Ball Hague Blue, which will help to give this room a more grown up feel. We suggest that you paint your existing cabinetry to match this to give the room an overall cohesive look. For the ceiling, picture rail, architrave and door we have proposed retaining the existing colour.
In this design we have swapped your existing sofa's round so that you get a good view of the mustard sofa as you walk into the room. This gives a beautiful contrast against the new wall colour behind. To the sofa's we recommend adding in a plethora of cushions in navy, butterscotch and coral. We have added in a playful cushion by Anthropologie which gives the sofas more depth and personality.
In front of your mustard sofa you will see your new cosy wool rug. With its colourful Berber theme and high pile height it will add comfort and warmth to the room.
Above the sofa we have allowed for a new wall light. We have opted for an elegant light made from brass with a natural alabaster shade. The Alabaster rock creates a beautiful mellow light due to its natural veining and colour. This really is a showstopper of a wall light and a real talking point!
To the side of the new wall light you will see your existing artwork piece married up with some new abstract prints. These add in colour to the scheme and pick up some of new tones in the sofa and cushions below.
Next to the sofa you will see you new feature armchair. With it's timber arms, dark grey linen upholstery and button backed detail it gives a nod to the mid century era.
Staying with the mid century feel and adding a touch of scandi to the room, we have allowed for your new timber side tables. These have an honest and uncomplicated feel to them and work really well against the dark backdrop.
To the ceiling we have allowed for a new feature pendant. It is antique brass in finish and has different textured glass inset panels which add to its individual feel.
To dress the windows we have added in further contrast with your chosen curtain fabric. The velvet curtains in abstract gold and charcoal tones adds depth and personality to the space. We recommend getting them made to pool on the floor for an added luxe feel.
To add finishing touches to the room we suggest allowing for a new floor lamp and wall mirror to the left of your existing fireplace. Contemporary and understated in design, the proposed floor lamp comes with an adjustable cone hood in white and a sleek brass body. We have chosen a round mirror that echoes the floor lamp with its brass edging. We have added in further finishing touches in the form of vases and candles that can be placed on the side tables and cabinetry shelves, all of which have rich colours and a playful feel.
We have really enjoyed working on your design. Once you have digested it all please get in touch and tell us what you think!
Your three week post-design support starts now! So please feel free to ask us if you have any queries about your room design. Enjoy!
Warm wishes,
Emma & Harriet.
