Hi Frankie,
It's here! Your final design is ready to view!
We've loved working on your Main Bedroom and as before, to accompany your room design we've included a design narrative below which explains how the concept works as a whole, including some tips- check it out!
Your shopping list:
As part of the free personal shopping service you have the option of ordering your items directly through us by adding them to your shopping basket. This is particularly helpful if you are ordering from numerous retailers as you only have to add your details once and our personal shopping team will sort the rest!
You’ll see that we’ve included a number of alternatives at different price points for each category in your shopping list, just click 'alternatives' to reveal these. You can then click the arrows to move the different products in and out of your shopping list, so have a play with different combinations. You’ll also see that the overall price at the bottom will update accordingly.
There are a small selection of retailers who only deliver directly to the account holder therefore we are unable to offer as part of our personal shopping service. If you do select anything from these retailers there is a handy link on the product which takes you to the retailers' site for you to purchase directly.
Please bear in mind that items can go out of stock quickly, so if you really love certain items it is best to purchase those first. However your shopping list will stay open as long as you like, so you can purchase the key pieces first and then add to them whenever you are ready.
Design Narrative:
The stunning new focal point within your Main Bedroom is the bespoke feature slatted timber shelf to the rear of your bed. Sitting at approximately 130cm high, the half height timber paneling is a key element in transforming your bedroom and giving your space character with a contemporary fresh twist.
We have proposed building the paneling out to create a shelf that will support a plethora of textured artwork in white, cream and terracotta tones as well as planting to create a natural, calming space reflective of your beautiful surroundings.
Fitted within your feature timber paneled shelf are your stunning new hand spun brass wall lights. The contemporary shape works beautifully with the modern lines of the paneling and the goose neck allows you to position the lights at variable angles, making these very handy reading or bedside lamps.
On a functional note, we have suggested going for integrated brass plug sockets to your bedside area, these will tie in seamlessly with the paneling and add a touch of luxe to an otherwise functional item.
Throughout your new bedroom we have proposed a natural, oiled oak chevron timber floor. This feature engineered flooring will add character and compliment the clean, modern look of the space.
Another key element within your bedroom is of course your new emperor sized bed. Upholstered in a handwoven textured cream fabric it sings against the natural oak paneling and gives a calm, organic feel to the space. The simple, clean lines of the bed add to the contemporary style of your bedroom whilst the cushioned headboard keeps it plush and cosy. To dress the bed we have plumped for crisp white bed linen paired with a stunning new sage green bedspread and a collection of cushions in natural textures, warm terracotta and cream tones. These individual pieces come together to create a luxurious bed set up that you won't want to get out of in the morning!
Anchoring the bed is your new oversized textured rug in a subtle cream colour. Made from New Zealand wool it is thick and super cosy underfoot making it perfect to step onto in the morning.
Sitting either side of the emperor bed are your new bedside tables, cement in construction these add a real depth of texture to your bedroom and look striking against the timber paneling. Their unusual cube shape gives these tables a contemporary and unique feel. We love them as they speak the same language as your initial inspiration image. We have dressed your bedside tables with a pair of small plants and on Dean's side we have allowed for a gorgeous black mango wood trinket dish for him to empty his pockets into (hopefully meaning he won't be tempted to leave anything on your new shelf!).
To the right of your bed set up sits Dean's iconic Eames lounge chair. This will provide him with a cosy spot to sit and take calls when working from home or spend time relaxing and enjoying the calm surroundings of your new bedroom.
An additional spot for lounging in is your existing armchair that we have proposed to relocate to become the main focal point as you enter the room. Reupholstering the armchair in a deep green velvet will revive this piece whilst the colour reflects the countryside beyond. It may be that Dean knows an upholsterer but if you need any contacts please let us know.
Beside your existing reupholstered armchair, sitting between your sliding doors, is your new media unit which will hold your existing TV. The fluted front echoes the contemporary lines of your new timber wall paneling whilst the brass detailing adds a touch of luxury to the unit. We have proposed styling your media unit with a trio of planting in clay and terracotta plant pots to tie in with the natural elements throughout the room.
Above your paneling and throughout your bedroom we have proposed painting the walls Farrow & Ball Shaded White. This colour will pair beautifully with the natural oak timber paneling and give you an overall feeling of serenity and calm. It is definitely worth getting samples of possible paint colours before committing to your chosen colour. Allow to paint different walls throughout the room with the paint sample so you get a true reflection of the colour throughout the space.
We have really enjoyed working on your design. Once you have digested it all please get in touch and tell us what you think.
Also please feel free to ask us if you have any queries about your room design. Enjoy!
Warm wishes,
Emma & Harriet.
