We've loved working on your Main Bedroom and to accompany your room design we've included a design narrative below which explains how the concept works as a whole, including some tips- check it out!

Your shopping list:

You’ll see that we’ve included a number of alternatives at different price points for each category in your shopping list, just click 'alternatives' to reveal these. You’ll also see that the overall price at the bottom will update accordingly.

There are a small selection of retailers who only deliver directly to the account holder therefore we are unable to offer as part of our personal shopping service. If you do select anything from these retailers there is a handy link on the product which takes you to the retailers' site for you to purchase directly.

Please bear in mind that items can go out of stock quickly, so if you really love certain items it is best to purchase those first. However your shopping list will stay open as long as you like, so you can purchase the key pieces first and then add to them whenever you are ready.

Design Narrative:

When entering your new Main Bedroom your focus will be drawn to your bespoke full height built in wardrobe and shelving unit that sits either side of your new feature chimney breast. The built-in wardrobe to the right hand side will offer plenty of hanging space whilst the low drawers to the left hand alcove will provide additional clothes storage. Sitting above your built in drawers on the left hand side is your new feature shelving. These shelves will be adorned with a number of plants, frames and decorative objects (as well as providing space for your TV) which will draw the eye nicely into the room.

Centrally, we have proposed a bespoke arched fireplace feature to your existing chimney breast which adds a modern nod to the 1930's history of your home. Styled with glass vases, faux stems and a large round mirror this feature will bring plenty of character into your new bedroom.

We have proposed painting your walls, built-in wardrobe and drawers in Farrow & Ball, Setting Plaster to give a seamless feel to the room and help ensure the built-in elements don't overpower the space. This shade is a beautiful, soft pink that creates the perfect backdrop to your Mid-Century inspired furniture. We have also allowed for cut out handles to the carpentry to help give a sleek, finished profile.

Moving towards your wonderful bay window, we have allowed for a new compact desk to sit in the space, offering you a lovely street view as you sit and work from home. The dark timber finish of the desk pairs well with your existing grey upholstered desk chair, creating a flexible and aesthetic work from home space. Full length curtains in a subtle grey textured fabric softens the space and finishes off your window vignette.

Adjacent to your new desk space is possibly the most important aspect of your new main bedroom, your bed set up! The Roscoe bed is the perfect fit for your space as the subtle walnut legs marry beautifully with the other dark timber finishes of the room whilst the warm grey upholstery softens and adds comfort and practicality to the space. To dress your new bed we have plumped for crisp white bed linen paired with layered knitted throws and a plethora of cushions in navy and blush tones. These individual pieces come together to create a luxurious bed set up that you won't want to get out of in the morning!

Either side of your new bed sits your new bedside tables, these are stand out pieces in your main bedroom. These stunning bedside tables feature a solid marble top sitting on Mid-Century inspired legs and drawer in a dark timber finish. The natural veining of the marble top gives the bedside tables an organic and individual feel whilst the timber base ties in beautifully with the other pieces within your bedroom.

Sitting on top of your new bedside tables is a pair of small, simple brass table lamps with a globe style bulb that echoes the Mid-Century styling throughout the room. We opted for these bedside table lamps as they are subtle in style but offer plenty of light for reading in bed and cast an elegant warm glow around your room when lit.

A glass pendant light with a simple, organic shape to the centre of your bedroom finishes off the layered lighting scheme.

Finally, to the other side of the room you will see your new ottoman which provides you with additional storage whilst also giving you a space to perch. Similarly to your new bed, the ottoman is from the Roscoe range but is upholstered in navy to add a touch of drama to the space and tie in with the navy styling found throughout the room. Above your new storage ottoman sits a small gallery wall featuring your travel photos. This gives the room a personal and unique touch and lets you reminisce about the wonderful memories the two of you have made over the years!

You may notice we have opted for quite a few West Elm pieces within your bedroom as all their timber is FSC certified and made in a Fair Trade facility - the furniture also has the added bonus of being extremely high quality which is an important consideration when investing in new items.
