Hi Clare & Mark,
It's here! Your final design is ready to view!
We've loved working on your Guest Bedroom and to accompany your room design we've included a design narrative below which explains how the concept works as a whole, including some tips- check it out!
Your shopping list:
As part of the free personal shopping service you have the option of ordering your items directly through us by adding them to your shopping basket. This is particularly helpful if you are ordering from numerous retailers as you only have to add your details once and our personal shopping team will sort the rest!
You’ll see that we’ve included a number of alternatives at different price points for each category in your shopping list, just click 'alternatives' to reveal these. You can then click the arrows to move the different products in and out of your shopping list, so have a play with different combinations. You’ll also see that the overall price at the bottom will update accordingly.
There are a small selection of retailers who only deliver directly to the account holder therefore we are unable to offer as part of our personal shopping service. If you do select anything from these retailers there is a handy link on the product which takes you to the retailers' site for you to purchase directly.
Please bear in mind that items can go out of stock quickly, so if you really love certain items it is best to purchase those first. However your shopping list will stay open as long as you like, so you can purchase the key pieces first and then add to them whenever you are ready.
Design Narrative:
When entering your Guest Bedroom you will first notice that the door will have been re-hung to allow for better access to the space and to create a more impactful first impression. You will be drawn to the new bespoke full height built in wardrobes and shelving unit that sit either side of your existing chimney breast. These will mirror your Main Bedroom beautifully, giving synergy to the bedrooms. The l-shaped built-in wardrobe to the right hand side will offer plenty of hanging space whilst the low drawers to the left hand alcove will provide additional clothes storage. We have also allowed for cut out handles to the carpentry to help give a sleek, finished profile. Sitting above your built in drawers on the left hand side is your new feature shelving. These shelves will be adorned with a number of plants, frames and decorative objects which will draw the eye nicely into the room.
Centrally, we have proposed a modest organic shaped mirror to highlight the existing location of the chimney breast whilst not encroaching on the space around the bed.
We have proposed painting your walls, built-in wardrobe and drawers in Dulux Tranquil Dawn, to give a seamless feel to the room and help ensure the built-in elements don't overpower the space. This colour is a calming shade of green that creates the perfect backdrop to your Mid-Century inspired furniture. We have also added in other possible paint colours to the alternatives section of your shopping list, so feel free to take a look!
Moving towards the window, we have allowed for a new compact desk to sit in the space, which mirrors your Main Bedroom perfectly. This will offer you a lovely view of your garden as you sit and put your make up on in the morning. This could also double up as a desk if you fancy a change of view from working in your Main Bedroom. The dark timber finish of the desk pairs well with the new fun velvet stool, its deep teal tone adds a fab pop of colour to the space.
New full length curtains in a subtle grey textured fabric softens the space and finishes off your window vignette.
Moving onto the guest bed, we have re-used your existing divan base but have added in a new headboard that has a beautiful arched shape which is upholstered in a faux linen fabric. To dress your new bed we have plumped for crisp white bed linen paired with a knitted throw and a plethora of cushions in teal and soft green tones.
Either side of the bed sits your new bedside tables, which echo the stand out pieces in your main bedroom. These stunning bedside tables feature a solid marble top sitting on Mid-Century inspired legs and drawers in a dark timber finish. The natural veining of the marble top gives the bedside tables an organic and individual feel whilst the timber base ties in beautifully with the other pieces within your bedroom.
To illuminate your new bedside tables we have allowed for some statement pendant lights that give the room a boutique hotel vibe. With their organic shape they sit well opposite the chimney breast mirror, plus the mango wood plinth detail in the lights tie in perfectly with the other natural elements within the room.
A simple yet stylish drum-shaped flushmount ceiling light to the centre of your bedroom finishes off the layered lighting scheme.
We have really enjoyed working on your design. Once you have digested it all please get in touch and tell us what you think!
Also please feel free to ask us if you have any queries about your room design. Enjoy!
Warm wishes,
Emma & Harriet.
