Hi Amy,
It's here! Your final design is ready to view!
We've loved working on your Living Room and to accompany your room design we've included a design narrative below which explains how the concept works as a whole, including some tips- check it out!
Your shopping list:
As part of the free personal shopping service you have the option of ordering your items directly through us by adding them to your shopping basket. This is particularly helpful if you are ordering from numerous retailers as you only have to add your details once and our personal shopping team will sort the rest!
You’ll see that we’ve included a number of alternatives at different price points for each category in your shopping list, just click 'alternatives' to reveal these. You can then click the arrows to move the different products in and out of your shopping list, so have a play with different combinations. You’ll also see that the overall price at the bottom will update accordingly.
There are a small selection of retailers who only deliver directly to the account holder therefore we are unable to offer as part of our personal shopping service. If you do select anything from these retailers there is a handy link on the product which takes you to the retailers' site for you to purchase directly.
Please bear in mind that items can go out of stock quickly, so if you really love certain items it is best to purchase those first. However your shopping list will stay open as long as you like, so you can purchase the key pieces first and then add to them whenever you are ready.
Design Narrative:
When entering your living room your eyes will be drawn to your stunning new Bluebell sofa set. The three seater sofa in Scuba velvet evokes a timeless style whilst the bold blue shade gives a subtle hint of contemporary. Beside this sits your two seater in a classic grey Thatch velvet balancing out the bolder tone of the three seater.
Both sofas will be in a smart velvet which means they will be extra durable and more resistant to accidental spillages. We have proposed going for English Oak legs to your sofas as this will be in keeping with the rest of the scheme.
Your sofas will be finished with your existing feature cushions that echo the design of you curtain and blind fabric, which are integral to the overall design of the space. These will be complimented by a plethora of velvet cushions in your chosen colour palette.
Above the three seater sofa will sit a trio of abstract art prints in blush, navy, teal and amber. Framed in black oak, these pieces will add drama and colour to the walls whilst working well with your feature floral fabric.
To the left of the three-seater sofa will be a new floor standing lamp. Its silver finish, teamed with a pink shade, captures a modern twist on a traditional classic and adds to the layered lighting scheme we have created throughout the living room.
The centrepiece to your sofas will be your plush new ottoman coffee table upholstered in Thatch velvet to match your two seater sofa. On top of your coffee table you will find an oversize mirrored tray which will add a touch of luxe to the space and will provide the perfect spot to place your cup of tea or cocktail!
A new handwoven rug will sit beneath your sofa set up, anchoring the living space and adding texture and comfort underfoot. The grey tones within the rug will compliment your existing carpet as well as your new furniture.
Beside both of your sofas you will find your new Liang and Eimil glass and antique silver side tables. This designer piece will ensure longevity whilst retaining it's style and simple elegance.
For your TV unit we have proposed a piece from the Oxford collection by the Painted Furniture Company. We have allowed for a longer TV unit (178cm) as this will help to scale the television and fits the space well. With the main body painted in 'Cloud' and the top in a natural oak finish, this piece will fit seamlessly into the scheme, adding a balance of colour and warmth.
To add interest to your existing fireplace we have allowed for a circular mirror with an off white painted finish. The mantel and hearth have been adorned with blue glass vases and feature hurricane lanterns.
Adding a fun focal point to the space is your new bar cart. The finish of the cart ties in with the glass and silver side tables whilst the circular shape echoes the fireplace mirror. The perfect entertaining piece, this cart will ensure your friends drinks will always stay topped up without leaving the room!
Moving to the bay window you will find your new reading nook, complete with stunning Loaf armchair in a vintage pink velvet. This is the perfect spot to watch the world go by. Next to your armchair sits your new smoked mirror and nickel side table. The mirrored top adds a luxe to the area whilst the criss-cross base adds a contemporary twist. To finish off this vignette we have allowed for a velvet footstool, not only will this provide additional comfort, it will also allow for more seating when you entertain.
To both sides of your bay window will be bespoke painted timber cabinetry by The Painted Furniture Co. The cabinet to the left hand side will house your record player whilst the slimmer cabinet to the right hand side of the window will be for general storage. Although these units will be at different depths and widths, making sure they have the same finish and height will ensure the window elevation will read well overall. Further helping with the symmetry of the space are the fabulous matching table lamps with a reeded glass and chrome base.
Above the left hand side cabinet we have proposed an incredible print from one of your favourite artists, Yvonne Coomber which will need to be professionally framed. The colours within the piece pick out the tones in room beautifully. We know you were keen to add some original artwork to the space but unfortunately most of Yvonne's pieces aren't quite the right size for the space so we thought a stunning print would be a good alternative.
Lastly, we have proposed painting the room in Farrow & Balls School House White, a classic off white which will brighten the space and importantly, looks lovely against your existing curtain and blind fabric. We would always recommend getting samples of the paint colour to check you are happy with it before committing. Rather than having a feature wall we feel this colour works best on it's own and acts as a simple base for the main colour palette within the room.
We have really enjoyed working on your design. Once you have digested it all please get in touch and tell us what you think!
Your two week post-design support starts now! So please feel free to ask us if you have any queries about your room design. Enjoy!
Warm wishes,
Emma & Harriet.
