Hi Amy,
It's here! Your final design is ready to view!
We've loved working on your Guest Bedroom and to accompany your room design we've included a design narrative below which explains how the concept works as a whole, including some tips- check it out!
Your shopping list:
As part of the free personal shopping service you have the option of ordering your items directly through us by adding them to your shopping basket. This is particularly helpful if you are ordering from numerous retailers as you only have to add your details once and our personal shopping team will sort the rest!
You’ll see that we’ve included a number of alternatives at different price points for each category in your shopping list, just click 'alternatives' to reveal these. You can then click the arrows to move the different products in and out of your shopping list, so have a play with different combinations. You’ll also see that the overall price at the bottom will update accordingly.
There are a small selection of retailers who only deliver directly to the account holder therefore we are unable to offer as part of our personal shopping service. If you do select anything from these retailers there is a handy link on the product which takes you to the retailers' site for you to purchase directly.
Please bear in mind that items can go out of stock quickly, so if you really love certain items it is best to purchase those first. However your shopping list will stay open as long as you like, so you can purchase the key pieces first and then add to them whenever you are ready.
Design Narrative:
When your Guest steps into your newly furnished Guest Bedroom their eyes are going to be drawn to the new half height panelling that will sit on the main wall behind the bed. This panelling will echo the grander, full height panelling in the Master Bedroom, whilst giving this room an air of comfort and subtle elegance.
The walls are going to be freshly painted in Farrow & Ball, School House White with the panelling below in your favourite, F&B Elephants breath. This will give the room a balanced and calm base to add accent colours to.
The first accent colours that will attract your Guest’s eye will be the artwork which is positioned on the wall above the bed. We have opted for three navy and white floral prints in natural wood frames that balance out the below panelling feature nicely.
In front of this feature wall we have allowed for a new storage bed from Sofa.com. We have opted for this bed as it is both subtly stylish and comfortable whilst giving you great storage. Sofa.com have proven to be great with quality and after sales service which has been really important to many of our customers. We have opted for the bed to be upholstered in Stone Brushed Linen Cotton as we felt that this subtle colour would let other items throughout the room sing such as the artwork and the cushions.
With regard to the cushions, we have kept the navy theme alive here with some beautiful deep navy cushions and a gorgeous handcrafted accent cushion with a watercolour painted feel to it. Again with a couple of neutral cushions, some crisp white bed linen and a champagne coloured throw, we are continuing to balance the design to give it a natural elegant feel.
Either side of the new bed your Guest will see matching bedside tables. These have a modern yet classic design whilst featuring a special slim pull-out tray for extra space on the bedside table when it is required. The bedside tables also have two drawers which again is very helpful for your storage needs.
Perched on top of the bedside tables will be beautiful new crackle glaze ceramic table lamps. They have a wonderful feel of understated elegance about them that finish off the vista perfectly.
At the foot of the bed we have allowed for two options- one being a feature ottoman and the other a corner accent chair. We feel that if you opt for both you may be compromising too much on the type of accent chair you would have to choose, which would be such a shame! We would love to see either a feature ottoman to make a focal point as well as giving you storage, with a pampas grass vase in the corner of the room or a feature accent chair to the corner of the room which could be a really beautiful addition to the room. With regards to both, we have opted for a dark rich navy fabric in a cotton base which is such a beautiful rich colour, just delicious!
The Guest ensuite is already a great space, and with the addition of extra storage and finishing touches it would be perfect. With this in mind we have allowed for a new vanity unit that could be built around your existing pedestal sink. We have opted for this to be painted in a deep navy tone to be in-keeping with the rest of the room design. You will need to seek out a carpenter to carry out these works and places such as Checkatrade are a wonderful place to start looking as you can see plenty of examples of their work and reviews.
We have also added in some navy & light grey textured towels to complement the design as well as some vases to fill your generous window cills and to finish the en-suite scheme nicely.
We have really enjoyed working on your design. Once you have digested it all please get in touch and tell us what you think!
Also please feel free to ask us if you have any queries about your room design. Enjoy!
Warm wishes,
Emma & Harriet.
